As things were a bit quieter over winter, I decided to develop my love for whisky a little bit further. Along with some of my guiding friends, we spent a very enjoyable day learning more about the history and production of the amber nectar, the different regions, some stories of smuggling and marketing innovation, and a taste or two (or 10!) of different whiskies from across the country. An exam and blind tasting later, and I am now an official Whisky Ambassador, ready to take you on a tour of distilleries across Scotland. The day was rounded off by a wee celebration in some local bas (and some more tasting!).
